This concert will be a lovely Summer evening of beautiful folk songs, English anthems, and a bit of Elvis. The Sprig of Thyme offers a selection of traditional songs of the British Isles, drawing together long standing favourites such as Willow Song and The Miller of Dee, with lesser known gems such as O Can Ye Sew Cushions and The Sprig of Thyme.
The choir will also be performing other Rutter favourites and anthems by local composers, David Halls, Christopher Fay and the late Barry Makin; and also the RSCM's commission for H M The Queen's Platinum Jubilee, In Our Service, by Thomas Hewitt-Jones.
