In October 2010 the St John Singers visited Saintes, France, which is twinned with Salisbury. It gave a concert in an old peoples home and another in the Abbaye aux Dames where it was joined by a French Ladies Choir, Les Voix Romanes, with both choirs singing Faure's 'Cantique de Jean Racine' and excerpts from Faure's 'Requiem' to a large audience who gave both choirs a standing ovation at the end of the concert. On the Sunday morning, the St John Singers sang Mass in Saintes Cathedral of St Pierre. Composers whose works were sung duirng the visit included Bob Chilcott, Gabriel Faure, Richard Sheppard and Vaughan Williams.
