Choral Concert

There was a large and appreciative audience to this concert which featured the premiere performance of a work titled 'Missa Semplice' by Roger Hewetson with the composer conducting.   The St John Singers were joined by  the Highcliffe Junior Choir and soloists Gwendolen Martin and Roger Hewetson and accompanied by an orchestra led by Brian Howells with Sam Hanson organ.   In the second half , the baton was taken by John Powell, Director of Music St John Singers, in a performance of  Faure's 'Requiem'.    A retiring collection waa taken for the charity  'Hope School in Bethlehem'.
