St John Singers gave its annual Christmas Concert, titled The Magic of Christmas, for the twenty first consecutuve year, to a large and very appreciative audience. The programme featured seasonal music by Andrew Carter, Bob Chilcott, John Rutter and Arthur Wills amongst several others. A novelty item was Leroy Anderson's The Typewriter performed by David Coram, organ, and Robert Blakey, typewriter, which brought the house down. Guest soloist Susan Mackenzie-Park, mezzo soprano, sang songs by Dvorak, Brahms and Reger. The concert was in aid of the Salisbury Branch of Parkinson's UK whose Senior Reseach Communication's Officer was chief guest.
