St John Singers performed Alexander L'Estrange's choral piece titled 'ZIMBE', (ie 'SING THEM') which is a work celebrating music in every day life in Africa. Also taking part in this concert were Salisbury's 'Babes and Ballads' & 'Guys no Dolls' both directed by Fiona Evans, the 'Downton Primary School Choir' directed by Becky Arch and the Spire Jazz Quintet, Andy Baker leader and bass Nigel Ellis alto sax, Paul Williams percussion, Richard Abrahams piano and James Gilbert drums. Proceeds were in aid of local charity 'Lucy's Days Out'. The concert was an outstanding success with a packed audience which gave the performers a standing ovation at the end.
