Our March concert will feature a variety of choral styles. The first half will contain contrasting settings of the Jubilate (Psalm 100 - O be joyful in the Lord all ye lands) by Gabrieli, Schutz and John Sanders, with other music by Bach (including Jesu, joy of man’s desiring, with Rosalie Watson, organ), Rheinberger and Bruckner.
The second half, in lighter vein, will contain songs by Stanford and Vaughan Williams, Randy Newman, Burt Bacharach and Lennon & McCartney.
So, whatever your taste, there should be something for you!
St John Singers are pleased to welcome husband and wife solo team, Alistair and Rosalie Watson, piano and oboe respectively: they will provide contrast to the evening’s choral programme.
And following the success (in terms of audience taste buds) of our March 2018, Coffee and Cake will be served in the interval...
